Laser Hair Removal

Skin color is related to a number of factors. The constitutive pigmentation of the skin is genetically inherited, without interference from solar radiation. There are several classifications of skin phototypes, among which the best known is the Fitzpatrick scale. In this scale, the phototypes are classified from one to six, based on each person's ability to tan, as well as sensitivity and redness when exposed to the sun:

1. White skin - always burns - never tans - very sensitive to the sun;
2. White skin - always burns - tans very little - sensitive to the sun;
3. Light brown skin - burns (moderately)- tans (moderately) - normal sun sensitivity;
4. Moderate brown skin - burns (little) - always tans - normal sensitivity to the sun;
5. Dark brown skin - burns (rarely) - always tans - not very sensitive to the sun;
6. Black skin - never burns - fully pigmented - insensitive to the sun.

Thus, in our space, the skin phototypes indicated for laser hair removal are from I - IV.

Here, in our clinic, the laser hair removal procedure is simple:

• begins with an initial consultation to explain how the procedure works, answer questions, and define the area to be treated.
• Next, we clean and shave the area that needs to be treated. Once the laser is ready, the handle will be applied to the skin. (Note: During this phase of the treatment, some clients report feeling a slight tingling sensation on the surface of the skin).
• at the end, we apply a soothing aloe vera gel.
