Spider Vein Treatment in Lisbon

The laser permanently eliminates the treated vessels. However, as there is an individual predisposition (genetic, hormonal, pregnancy, long periods of standing), new spider veins can appear over time. That’s why we recommend preventive care and, if necessary, maintenance sessions.

This treatment is indicated for superficial spider veins and strokes (telangiectasias). Larger varicose veins require evaluation and often a different approach. During the assessment, we will confirm whether the laser is the right option for you.

It will depend on the amount of treatment required, your own pain threshold and the location of the vein. Some clients describe the sensation as nothing more than uncomfortable, while others describe it as an elastic band vibrating against the skin.

Normal activities can be resumed. After the procedure, you may notice redness and swelling in the treated area. Some patients may also experience very slight bleeding at the treatment site. Aloe vera will be applied after the treatment to relieve any discomfort. Over the next few days, you may notice a scab at the treatment site as the skin begins to heal. It is important not to remove the scab, as this can cause scarring. Let the area heal naturally.

White gas bubbles may appear immediately on the skin. This is a good sign that heat has been released from the fragmented pigment particles. This will disappear within 20 minutes of treatment. Spot bleeding may occur and this is due to the small blood vessels within the skin breaking. This should stop within 20 minutes of treatment. Redness of the skin may be present and temporary swelling due to the heat and intensity of the treatment.

Clients will see a reduction after the first treatment, however, 2-5 sessions every 6 weeks are recommended. For some clients, more sessions may be required for complete removal.

Before treatment to remove spider veins, don’t smoke 4 hours beforehand, as this can deprive the blood vessel of oxygen.
