Sagging is a natural, slow, and progressive process of the skin becoming more flabby and less toned. It is characterized by the weakening of collagen and elastin, which support the skin tone. That is, the body begins to work more slowly, decreasing the production of these elements, thus giving rise to a lack of skin tone. On average, from 25-30 years of age this decrease starts to take effect, although it is important to point out that it can vary from person to person.
There is no single, specific factor that causes flaccidity. But, there may be other factors, besides the body's natural aging, that accelerate the flaccidity process, such as smoking, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy, hormonal disturbances, obesity, weight loss and weight gain in a short period of time, lack of gymnastics, excessive exposure to the sun, among others, originating the several degrees of flaccidity.
