Plants and animals include everything our ancestors ate (from a huge list of individual foods) to get protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and other nutrients needed to maintain health.

The paleo diet focuses on quality sources of animal protein, whether organic, organic or wild sources of meat, poultry and fish. And a variety of colorful vegetables, fresh fruits, and healthy sources of fat (oilseeds, seeds, in their derived butters, certain oils, avocado, etc.).
